Bodrum is the dreamland !

Bodrum is a charming and fascinating little port, 270 km. south of Izmir, on the Aegean coast of Turkey. It is located on the southern coast of Bodrum Peninsula, it faces the Greek island of Kos and at a point that checks the entry into the Gulf of Gokova.
Bodrum wins the title of “Saint Tropez of Turkey” by NYTimes magazine.

Today, Bodrum is one of the most important centers of trade, art and entertainment as it has been for centuries… The coastal town in which traditional and modern life go hand in hand in an excellent harmony, opens arms for those who want to be acquainted with her and for those who choose to live here.

One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, The Mausoleum of Mausolus, was here.

The Father of History, “Herodotus“, was born in Halicarnassus...
The first settlement in Bodrum which left structural evidence behind was on the rocky little island where the Castle of St. Peter now stands (the castle was once completely surrounded by sea ). When the Knights of St. John arrived to build their fortress, they found the ruins of an old castle, now known to have been built by the Dorians roughly around 1100 BC. Amphitheater seating capacity about 13.000 spectators the theater dates to the region of Mausolus but with modifications added by the Romans.  The theater of ancient Halicarnassus has recently been excavated and also restored. This nature oriented theatre is one of the oldest theaters in Anatolia.
