The town is named after the famous admiral, Turgut Reis. He was born here in the
early 16th century.
Turgutreis is favored by professional wind surfers due to its strong coastal winds. Saturday is the local market day, the market attracts many people. This volcanic area is interesting and offers possibilities for walking and trekking tours. Visitors enjoy the volcanic landscape which is very dramatic and impressive.
There are 14 small islands located nearby Turgutreis. These islands have beautiful coastlines which offer great possibilities for boat, diving and sailing tours.

Turgutreis has many bars providing a lively nightlife. The cafe and bars in the Marina are a real hit, as
are several other bars on the edge of the resort. While the best night clubs can be found in Bodrum.

Turgutreis has plenty of shops providing holiday essentials as well as gifts and souvenirs. Saturday is market day, the town fills up with villagers that bring clothes and fresh local produce that are a feast for the eyes and taste buds!

There are a great range of restaurants in Turgutreis, including fast food restauarants (McDonalds). Other restaurants serving foods like English breakfasts, fresh fish and traditional Turkish food.
For a romantic meal there are many restaurants located near our office at the waterfront, here you can watch the most beautiful of sunsets.
Cafe Leto is a cafe located next to our office. Here a variety of coffees and Turkish coffee/tea can be got. Along with other cold refreshments and local desserts.
Bodrum Turgutreis Buses (Dolmus)
Regular buses connect the town with nearby villages, hotels, and villa's. The Dolmuses run till about 5am in high season and out of season this varies. The Dolmus station is situated behind the Migros supermarket.
